Authorization means verifying access permissions for system users to data and services.
The datasqill services allow a user access with different rights that the datasqill Administrator has defined. To store and retrieve the user's rights, the datasqill services use their authentication data. These consist of the combination of authentication server and user ID and can be viewed in the datasqill GUI (see section Authentication).
A user without permissions is informed by datasqill when starting the GUI with a message window that they have no rights:

In this case, the authentication data from the message window should be passed to the datasqill Administrator so they can set up and authorize the user.
To grant permission, the datasqill Administrator opens the corresponding dialog under the menu item "Settings" - "User, Roles & Rights" and switches to edit mode there (by clicking the pencil). Then click the "Add..." hyperlink under "User", enter the first and last name of the new user (free text), and then click "Add..." at OS-User. A form for entering the user ID and authentication server is displayed, into which this data is entered. It could look something like this:

The newly created user initially has no rights. The datasqill Administrator must then authorize them by assigning rights. This is described in the section Permissions.
After these steps, the new user must restart their GUI so that the new permissions are applied.
