Clients use a technical user for access to the Configuration Repository. The datasqill GUI reads the data for the configured transformation environments from this configuration store when it starts.

The Configuration Repository is a database in which transformation environments, users, rights, roles, and permissions are stored. The connection data, technical user, and password for access are requested by the datasqill GUI when starting for the first time:

These access data are stored locally on the client and used again for subsequent starts of the graphical interface.
The data can later be viewed or adjusted in the GUI under the menu item Settings - Local Settings:

Read access to the Configuration Repository is allowed for all datasqill Clients (for which the access data with the technical user has been stored). Changing data in the Configuration Repository requires administration rights, which must be granted via role-based access (RBAC).
The tables and data belonging to the Configuration Repository are usually created in one of the transformation environments. This simplifies administration and operation.

However, it is also possible to create and operate the Configuration Repository as a standalone database.
