datasqill Demobox is an AlmaLinux-based VM that includes datasqill Server, datasqill Client, Postgres, DBeaver, and a demo Data Warehouse with TPC data.

Import and start the Demobox

Virtual Box 6.1+ software is required to use the datasqill Box and can be downloaded from here: virtualbox.org.

After installing Virtual Box, import the datasqill appliance by double-clicking the datasqil-*.ova file. Start the VM after successful import. The login credentials are:

User: datasqill
Password: demobox

For high-resolution displays like Mac Retina, the Virtual Box setting "View > Virtual Screen > Scale to 200%" is recommended.

Getting to know the Demobox

The most important shortcuts are under Activities: datasqill, DBeaver with connection to Postgres, Chromium, Terminal.

Start the datasqill Client. The connection to the server is preconfigured, so the "Setup" step from the documentation can be skipped. When the datasqill Client is started for the first time, an admin user is automatically created.

After starting, you can view and run the TPC demo in datasqill under TPC. The database objects are located in the Postgres database, which is accessible via a connection from DBeaver.
