Define Sources and Targets

For a transformation to be fully captured and runnable, sources and targets must be defined. Sources are all objects used in the transformation query; the target is an object that is written to or created by the transformation.

Sources and targets are modeled by the datasqill "Object" element. Objects are created similarly to transformations via drag & drop of the object icon (database icon) onto the worksheet, and are then linked to the transformations on the worksheet. This is done by dragging a connection with the left mouse button pressed from one connection point to another, and releasing when the green indicator appears so it snaps into place (drag & drop). For each object, the connection and schema are selected. The "Refresh Objects" functionality (to the right of the Connection dropdown) updates the metadata from the corresponding database.

Edit Object

Sources of an action are dragged from the connection point on the bottom of the object to the connection point on the top of the action. Targets are dragged from the bottom of the action to the top of the target object. A connection can be deleted via the Remove Connection entry in its context menu.
